Yesterday was one of those hot humid days in which it rained off and on. We've had this kind of weather for about a week now since we're so close to the Gulf of Mexico (especially during hurricane season in which everything that happens out there at some point affects us too.) Mosquitos are very abundant so we tend to wear long sleeves too when outside. We decided to go bike-riding and my preschooler loved experimenting with skidding in the mud and riding fast through water puddles. The fact that the city was reasphaulting the road making it really muddy made our trip even more interesting.
Afterwards, he recharged (ate a snack, put on some dry clothes) and started all over. This time, he was on a mission...to find whatever was swimming rapidly around in the mud puddle in our driveway. As it turned out, after lots of patience and determination, he finally caught the tiny black water bug. Makes me wish I were five again...
